Hello everyone, i am happy come back and visit the museum, a new place, which we will see through the photos attached. A place that holds what remains in my heart. welcome everyone to the museum. Chau oil paint artist by mouth
Visited the museum last weekend. It just opened in Garden Grove. I was surprised to hear that it has been in Westminster for a few years, but I had not known about it. As a history buff, I really enjoyed many of the stories behind the items on display. The culture of this diaspora was born from the South Vietnamese state becoming refugees in exile and it is very encouraging to see that the museum focuses on this point. I think people sometimes forget that the culture is a unique one formed by the memory of the experience of the war and refugee journey. It isn't the same as that in Vietnam today. Statues to ancient legendsdo not speak to the culture of Little Saigon. The statue to Quang Tri in 1972 is one that does!
Stumbled upon this museum shopping nearby, but was warmly welcomed by informative and hospitable volunteers. Unique collection of South Vietnamese military history worth a visit from anyone interested. Be advised, the downstairs location appears to be closed but the upstairs one is open. Recommend calling ahead to ensure opening hours since staff is purely on a volunteer basis.
Not the biggest museum, but filled with lots of items on display. There are a lot of old uniforms and artifacts from the Republic of Vietnam. The staff of volunteers is very knowledgeable and friendly. They were genuinely happy we visited and took time to make us feel welcome. It is a little easy to miss as it is on the second floor, but it is very worth a visit.
Visiting from out of state saw a building downstairs but it was closed they moved upstairs no problem. Walked up the staircase and entered into the museum and got greeted by Chris and Lin both very helpful on sharing info on pieces of art and everything else in the museum will have to visit again.
