We had a short layover at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and were pleasantly surprised by how smooth and comfortable the experience was. Even with limited time between flights, everything felt organized and easy to navigate. Our connection was straightforward, with clear signage and helpful staff making it simple to move between terminals. For such a large and busy airport, the flow was better than expected, and we never felt rushed or stressed. LAX offers plenty of places to sit, relax, and recharge. Whether you want to grab a quick snack, stretch your legs, or just take a breather before the next flight, there are convenient options throughout the terminals. Even during a short layover, we found several good spots for food and drinks. The variety is great, and it’s easy to pick up something quick without wandering far from your gate. Our brief time at LAX was genuinely positive. Clean spaces, helpful staff, and an easy connection made the layover smooth and enjoyable. For a major international airport, it delivered exactly what we needed.

When my husband and I landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), I was honestly fascinated. There were so many different airlines I had never seen before — carriers from all over the world. It truly showcases how international and high-traffic this airport is. That being said, as someone who has experience working at a CAT X airport, I can confidently say this is one of the more confusing airports I’ve ever navigated. The signage throughout the airport is very unclear, which only adds to the stress — especially if you’re unfamiliar with the layout. When we initially landed at LAX, the line for the bus to the terminal was extremely long and wrapped around. You have to take this bus in order to get to the rideshare area, which adds another step after a long flight. It was a lengthy and exhausting process just to exit the airport. When we arrived to the airport for our returning flight, I had tried to request a wheelchair due to an injury I got earlier on our trip, as it was quite a long trek between areas. Unfortunately, the person at the information desk told me they are very hard to get and simply wished me luck. Given how large and spread out LAX is, that was incredibly disappointing. After that, we went through TSA security, and started heading toward our gate — only to find out we needed to wait in a long line for a bus that would take us to the actual terminal area. After getting there, then we could proceed to our gate. The unexpected added time was stressful, and we almost missed our flight because of it. The biggest takeaway: arrive with plenty of extra time. Between unclear signage, long walks, extremely long bus lines, and additional transportation steps just to reach rideshare or certain terminals, delays can add up quickly. LAX is impressive in terms of its global airline presence, but it’s definitely an airport where extra planning — especially if you have mobility concerns — is absolutely essential.

Los Angeles International Airport is a modern and clean airport facility with a lot of seating. Some power outlets are unfortunately inoperative. Public address and communication is good and clear. Airport can get busy, but not too crowded. Would recommend!

This airport is very small for the number of flights they handle but they do a great job at somehow making it work. The terminals are small compared to other airports at major U.S. hubs, with fewer shopping and food options. But the ones they do have are cool and trendy. Amex Centurion Lounge is great, Korean Air Lounge, Emirates Lounge, and American Admirals Club as well. The international terminal is easy to navigate, for arrivals or departures. It’s less overwhelming than other international terminals and the shopping is luxury. I love that this airport has many dog relief stations (in every terminal). That is amazing! They have Clear and TSA PreCheck but honestly have never needed them, the lines have always been short. The baggage claims are some of the most slowest, you might wait an hour for bags sometimes. The airport should invest in traffic officers. Rarely been delayed here. Clear weather year round means most flights go out on time.

One of the biggest pet peeves I have is lack of clear signage at the airport. Signs cost like a few hundred dollars yet how much does it cost hundreds of thousands of customers wasting time walking in circles. If you arrive at Terminal 1 you see signs telling you to go left for the rideshare pickup and signs saying go right. See my photo. Why not instead have a sign that says 'To shuttle to rideshare pickup 20 min shuttle ride' and 'To rideshare pickup 5 min walk'. No, of course not, we need conflicting signs telling you to go right and left. And when you see the shuttle pick up pillar, as you can see in the photo, it doesn't explain you have to get on a shuttle. So I booked a ride and I'm confused why it tells me to go to Lot 30 and 31. After waiting 20 min the shuttle driver shows up to tell me it takes another 20 min to get to the rideshare pickup lot. So my ride canceled on me and I walk. But wouldn't it have been so much easier for a simple sign to explain all this???!!!
