John Wayne Airport has been one of the best airport experiences I have had so far. With a small terminal and getting into the secured side past check in and security taking less than 15 minutes, it's a relatively quiet airport facility which is also clean and not overly crowded unlike LAX. Flying here from Phoenix Arizona takes only around 45 minutes.

John Wayne SNA airport is probably one of my most favorite airports bc it’s efficient, small, very well maintained and organized and planned out. Whomever the architect or team of planners who designed this airport were, they are really smart and thought out all the little details. The signs are super clear and there are so many to help you go where you need and find what you are looking for. There’s signs for the cell phone lot, Uber and Lyft and Wingz, ground transportation. You can walk to parking lots and the rental car lots across the street so there’s no wait for a shuttle, you have restaurants including McDonalds which is always fun to have. The bathrooms were clean (both men and women). They also have water foundations and a filtered water refill station. The signs were very easy to see and large fonts and plenty of repeated signs to help you not get lost. They also have an animal relief room and a nursing mother’s lounge.

Recommendation: Fly in and out of here. We love SNA. Since we live on South OC, it's our go to. Long Beach is our backup, then San Diego and last is LAX. Valet - The valet parking is clutch. We've only used it a handful of times, but each time we were so grateful. When you're late and time of is of the essence, the valet option is amazing. Terminals - They have a couple terminals, but they're relatively small and easy to navigate. Food - The food options are OK. Again, it's a small airport so not a lot of choose from, but you will eat well. Parking - It's a small airport, so parking is easy. My office is close by so I can literally walk to the airport from here. If you really wanted to, you could park for free in a nearby parking lot for a day or two and walk a few blocks. TSA - The service and attention of the TSA crew is good. We've never had a bad experience working with the people here. TSA Pre Option - We were able to regester for TSA Pre here. They made it super easy.

My flight into John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Ca, was on time, upon deboarding my plane I made the long walk to find the ridesharing pick up area, which was fairly confusing being that usually when I travel its curb side, but here its in the parking structure. The airport itself is very clean and has a unique ceiling; It is a nice alternative to flying to LAX with how congested it is.

We always fly to John Wayne Airport when visiting California because it's not as busy as Los Angeles airport. 3 things that bug me on this latest visit with 10 family members: 1. The seats are so close together when put back to back. As I sat down, my 5yr old daughter jumped on my lap and kissed me....pushing my head back and hitting another gentleman's head that was just sitting behind me! 2. McDonald's ran out of eggs and hashbrowns inside the terminal as we were waiting for our flight...10:30am. Our 3 daughters, nephew and niece and their parents wanted breakfast 😕. 3. During security check, I was the last one out of the 10 travelers held back. Waited almost 10min for them to check my little bag. There were 2 other bags ahead of mine that they were checking. They were checking for liquids and testing it all. In Vancouver airport they just make us throw away any liquid or dump it out before going through security check point, which is much more efficient.
