We came here on a Monday for lunch with a group of six and did the $21.99 lunch AYCE menu. We specifically chose this spot because of the premium steak on the basic menu — it’s something we’ve enjoyed here before and was honestly the main reason we came back. Everything started off fine, but after our first round (we ordered two portions for our two grills), we were told they were completely out of that steak. That was really frustrating, especially since it’s a core item on the lunch menu and no one mentioned anything when we sat down or placed our initial order. When we asked for a solution, there really wasn’t one. We were offered Hawaiian BBQ steak as a substitute, which we declined because of the sweeter flavor, and when we asked if they could accommodate us with a different steak option, we were told no. It felt like there was zero effort to make up for an item they knew was unavailable. Service also didn’t help the situation. It was a slow Monday lunch (only a handful of tables and multiple servers), but everything from getting orders taken to receiving food felt delayed. It honestly felt like there wasn’t much urgency, which was disappointing given the automatic gratuity for larger parties. To top it off, we were told they typically receive shipments on Mondays and need time to thaw — which might explain the shortage, but that’s something customers should be informed of upfront, not after ordering. Overall, the experience felt like we didn’t get what we came for, and there wasn’t much effort to fix it. If you’re planning to come here specifically for certain menu items, I’d strongly recommend avoiding Mondays or calling ahead to confirm availability.

We came here a few years ago and disliked it. We came back again at the request of an acquaintance. It was just as unlikeable as before with even worse service. I would say I am pretty lenient on reviews but there is really nothing great about this place aside from location and relatively affordable price in the segment. If you are looking for all you can eat style BBQ cuisine, I would recommend Shinobu BBQ a few blocks away instead.

Omg.. bad bad bad.!!! Worst Worst Worst!!! Don’t go this place.. so bad!!! Service was horrible bad. Worst place Worst Service. When they got ordered and they disappeard never came back right away. Super Slow !!! takes more than 30 minutes. And brought up to table with only one pieces of meats. then left. Service, their Management totally not organized. Fire was so weak so we can’t cook faster we want. We ask them need some bigger fire they said this is maximum. Whatta Horrible!!! So we ask move table. After we moved But their services still same. Very Lazy !!! Super slow never coming back faster. We felt so hunger while seating table. Table was only full with the rice bowl and Salad, but No meats on the table. Also their Meats are all Junk with fattty ffat. No marbling meat. So hard to Chewing and we can not eat because it’s so hard and so rough. That meat taste like leather. Their fatty meats came up every time we ordered still the same bad. Nothing good!!! we can’t see good quality at all. It’s really bad so we can’t eat. We ordered hot Soon-Tofu that came up with no tofu inside it has only soop base with one piece of bezzy. No Tofu inside bowl. It was like hell hell hell yesterday. Really Hell place here.~~~You must regret here when you come at Gen Korean bbq at Huntington Beach on Beach blvd. ( South of Edinger )

We here for dinner. The server came after 18 mins. I happened to asked the guy in Red shirt( he was the manager) do we have to order side dishes and sauces? He says order and walked away. After waited 12-15 mins. I had to ask the front for help. We didn’t get our side dishes. No sauce. Horrible experience.

This place is delicious! Meats are always good, appetizer selection is awesome, and they have fun drinks too. Service is a hit or miss, I feel like lunch tends to be better. It’s not for the staff’s lack of trying though as I feel like they are always just understaffed. That’s the only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars. I think if they had more people working shifts, we wouldn’t have to wait so long for someone to come by. Again, not the staff’s fault, more a management issue in my opinion as someone who comes here often.
