Probably the best shelter we’ve ever been to (and it’s been a lot.) They returned our online application quickly and were very friendly to us on our journey to adopt, even offering condolences for our cat who passed away. We visited 3 times before we decided to adopt, and each time was a great experience filled with adorable, healthy cats and kind volunteers/workers. They also seemed to do a good job keeping the kennels clean, which we can’t say about everywhere we visited. We are paying $200 for our newest kitten addition including vaccinations and sterilization, which I believe is fair. I loved this experience very much and would suggest this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a new friend. ♥️ Shoutout to Jaclyn, Richard and Debbie! You’re all the best!
The people here are so kind and caring. It does my heart good to know there are people there who take care of the animals and show them love. Please open your hearts and try to help. Even a small donation makes a big differene. I know I will continue to do what I can. Thank you Animal Assistance League of OC for being there.
Employees stuff of Long Beach Animal Care Services are awesome and this my favorite place from I got Two my Dogs , they have knowledge how to take care of animals and provide the information you need to find your special animals you Dream of it , This shelter is very well maintenance and clean where every animals feel save and have good leaving
Donated to this organization for several years..But when I needed their asst. with kittens born on my door step.. No asst. at all. I had no idea what to do with 2 week old kitties & no calls returned.. Finally answered a email months later-by then I'm sure I mentioned I had been donating.. Mentioned situation to vet, others.. nothing positive to say..Kept 4 cats, adopted 2 out..Still send me donation request s...aholes
They don’t actually try to get their dogs adopted, at least not the bigger ones. I submitted and application a few years ago when I was looking for a dog and got turned down. Regardless of whether I thought they turned me down for dumb reasons, I do but that’s besides the point, the dog I wanted is still there and so are the older dogs that were there when I applied. I now have a lab that I adopted from somewhere else maybe a month after they turned me down. She gets a big back yard, daily walks and a doggie door to come in and out as she pleases. Meanwhile Riley has spent the last two years since I last saw him in a kennel. I liked the guy in the back who takes care of the dogs. I think he does a good job. The dogs all seemed like he took them out and gave them play time and Riley was really well adjusted, which is why I wanted him. It’s a shame that no one will ever have him in their family.
