Dr Leung is honest and I trust him with my two cats every time I have visited the vet. I have been taking my cats to this office for a few years now and couldn’t be happier with the care we received. Dr Leung is always patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I really appreciated his honesty and transparency—he focused on what was best for my cat without pushing extra treatments or costs. It gave me so much peace of mind. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel comfortable and well cared for.
Dr. Leung and his staff are amazing, and they truly care for animals. I've been taking my Frenchie here for the past 2 years and they have helped him so much. Thank you to everyone at this facility! Prices are great, and treatments are spot on.
Absolutely wonderful all around! I thought I had posted a review long ago but I can't find one so I have to tell everyone searching for a loving caring straight forward Vet that will spend time explaining educating and not trying to up sell you Alamitos is awesome! Reasonably priced ta boot! Our Bella was very sick with diabetes and they cared for her each day for 6 days to help her kidneys and get her well, I can't thank you enough for this we had a couple more years with our girl because of your care♥️ Our Dukee kitty (scaredy cat, not easy to deal with) had his neuter and went great, he was in n out no problem. I really like that it's first come first serve appointments... Get there they go in order of arrival, it's just you and your pet on your appnt with Vet. Thank you!
I’m not someone who leaves negative reviews, but I couldn’t find a way to reach Dr. Leung directly. He is not my regular vet, but I’ve visited his office twice before in a pinch because they accept walk-ins, and I’ve always had positive interactions with him. Today I visited Alamitos Animal Hospital shortly before closing with my almost 6-month-old puppy and my two toddlers. I even called beforehand to ask if I should come the next morning instead and was told, “It didn’t matter.” I requested Bordetella, Rabies, and a fecal exam, as these were required for occasional boarding. Because I had small children with me, I asked if I could wait in my car, and the receptionist said that was fine. When the veterinary assistant came out, she asked if my puppy had received her other core vaccines. I explained that she’s a rescue, and because I am a student midwife trained in administering injections, I had already given all core vaccines at home starting at 6 weeks. I only needed Bordetella and Rabies, and the boarding facility accepted my documentation. The assistant said my dog might be too young for rabies but would check with the doctor. She seemed to understand and took my puppy inside. While waiting, I called the boarding facility, and they confirmed rabies wasn’t required at this age and that a fecal test was unnecessary. When the assistant returned, she told me to come inside to pay. I unloaded my toddlers in the pouring rain and came in, only to be told the bill was nearly $200. That’s when I learned my dog had been given Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP, and a deworming medication, far more than what I had requested or consented to. The same vet assistant who had been polite outside was now visibly annoyed and spoke to me dismissively, though I remained calm, kind, and understanding. I explained the misunderstanding multiple times and apologized for any inconvenience. I wasn’t trying to be difficult; I was just trying to leave quickly with my toddlers. I don’t believe the assistant acted maliciously, and I understand miscommunications happen; it was raining, nearly closing, and my kids were chatty in the car. But her attitude in front of other customers was unnecessary and unprofessional. Thankfully, the receptionist removed the extra charges. I canceled the fecal exam and asked for documentation of the additional vaccines given, but I was refused. I specifically asked for any written record, even a basic summary, and was told I could not receive documentation of the DHPP vaccine because I wasn’t paying for it. No one apologized for giving my dog a vaccine series she had already completed. I was treated like I did something wrong. This is concerning because California Business & Professions Code § 4855 clearly states that clients are entitled to a summary of their pet’s medical record upon request, including: “All medications and treatments prescribed and dispensed, including strength, dosage, quantity, and frequency.” Refusing documentation due to a billing adjustment is neither lawful, transparent, nor ethical. I’ve had good experiences with Dr. Leung in the past and hope he reaches out, as he never came to speak with me during this. I appreciate that I wasn’t charged for the extra services, but my dog did receive them, and I should not have been denied proper documentation.
My cat cameback with a wound and her tail I took her to the emergency hospital over at garden grove and Euclid, was after 8:pm,after on hour plus of waiting they took her in, a few minutes later they came back with a clear diagnostic and concluded that Gatita needed to have her tail amputated,I was totally upset but I didn't have any options at the moment I was desperate,I was about to doing it they came with a 2.900.00 estimate,I couldn't do it at the moment, so they give her a pain shot and antibiotics for a few days $800.00 !! And we whent home she was hurting bad. Next day we came to Alamitos Hospital, they helped us right away, Dr very experienced, cleaned the wound,( the emergency hospital didn't ) and said don't worry she's going to be fine,it is no reason for amputate her tail, the wound will heal her hair is going to grow, antibiotics and pain medicine, and send us home for a total $159.00 !!!! Wooooo ,I tell you the best care and price and they treat Gatita like if it was there OWN, I will forever go back there with my pets. Thank you Alamitos Hospital,Staff and Dr Albert
