Stopped by on a whim looking for some books for my dad. They have a great variety, from older, out of print, Vietnamese books to new Vietnamese books. On both days that I went, both gentlemen who were there were extremely kind and helpful in finding the books I was looking for and going through their vast catalogue. Would definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!
I ordered from their store online. Ordered 12/18 in the evening and had the books in MN 12/24 morning. They are brand new, each book came with a bookmark and packaged beautifully. They were well protected and arrived in perfect condition- they do not even seem to have sat on a bookshelf. I bought these books as a gift, they were extremely hard to find online in the usual book store locations. Took a chance with a small business and will not look anywhere else in the future. I have come to this book store to look for Vietnamese books. The place is pretty calmed, and in my opinion, it would benefit if they sell the English version, especially of those mist famous Vietnamese books or popular Vietnamese books and promoting it in Socia Media. Overall, I really like the place with their great customer service, a pretty welcoming atmosphere, and knowledgeable personnel
Although it seemed a little bit expensive, I am not from California so I think for California the prices are normal and their selection of vietnamese history books really impressed me and it was difficult sticking to my budget and not buying hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. I loved looking around there and the owners were super super friendly to me ( a white guy with only 4 years of vietnamese speaking experience) they have books to help with learning the vietnamese language as well as a small but noticeable selection of bilingual or straight up English books in some of the sections. I wish we had something like this near my hometown in Tennessee. Great selection.
We just been to Tu Luc few days ago for our three months supply of Ashitaba Tea. Tin showed us new product that Tu Luc Bookstore carries. Dried Fruits made from Fresh Fruits. Dried Soursop and Dried Kumquat with honey. I strongly recommend that new and old Customers to try them. Healthy and delicious. Birds Nest cookies are to die for. Good dessert.
