Every person at Little Cottonwood Animal Hospital is caring and compassionate. I took my dog Tyson there for years. Last June at 16 years old, he was diagnosed with a tumor on his spleen. The doctor explained all of our options clearly. We chose to have a splenectomy they took wonderful care of him. Recently, we made the difficult decision to put our beloved dog down. The compassion and care we received before, during AND after this heart wrenching experience helped us to know that we made the right choice. I had to stop by the vet two weeks after we put him down and the receptionist recognized me immediately and asked how we were doing. I cannot recommend this animal hospital highly enough.
I am SO HAPPY with the level of care this place has provided!! When we got our 2 year old mini golden doodle started out at a place in WGG that did not have compassionate care so I moved to a different vet in Seal Beach and I didn’t like the level of care there either so it wasn’t until we got our most recent puppy who is 15 weeks old that I realized Little Cottonwood should’ve been the place we went to all along. Dr. Malone and Dr. H have been so compassionate and caring!! I trust them with my doggies! The girls that work the front end, especially Margie, always answers the phone with such kindness! I never feel like I am bothering them. The other place made me feel that way, but I won’t say their names. Also, they always text to follow up with how my babies are doing. No one else did that! The cost is a little more but you can’t put a price on great service and great care, especially when it comes to your pets!! And I love that they offer low-cost vaccinations on Saturday mornings!! So very happy to now have GREAT CARE for my furbabies!!!
We have been coming to this site for veterinary care for nearly 23 years. Recently, as our 15-year-old Puggle-Chihuahua Mutt was nearing the end of his life, I was concerned about the experience of putting him down. He's always become so nervous when entering the building for a nail trim and anal gland expression. I did not want his final experience to be fraught with anxiety, too. Our family made a plan and an appointment. When the day came, we were able to wait in the car until the room was ready, and then I received a call to come inside. We were ushered right into the quietest room where Dr. Liccardo met us. She explained the process and offered us as much time as we needed to walk through this process. Her exam of Webster was gentle. She listened to us and made the appropriate recommendations. Laura is the most awesome tech, treating each animal like a friend as I'd observed on previous visits, and it was she who took Webster for a sedative and catheter. Again, we were given time to say goodbye and initiate the timing of the medications. I am so appreciative of the kindness we were shown on that very difficult day. I know the candle was lit in the waiting room silently acknowledging what was going on that day, and as we walked out we were greeted with looks of compassion from each of the families in the waiting room. Thank you, Dr. Liccardo and Laura for a great experience as we said goodbye to Webster.
Took the felines for their check up and their nails trimmed! It was easy to get an appointment. Once the paperwork was complete they took them back in a timely manner. It was easy, the staff was kind and prices seemed fair. I think I was stressed but I think I could do it again when it’s time. The process was easy and the felines are healthy! Thanks to all for making it easy and for taking good care of us all.
My 15 year old cat had been suffering from bone cancer for a while and I felt I had run out of options. When I brought him here, all the doctors who saw him had treated him very lovingly and carefully, and I was kept fully informed of all treatment options available for him. All the advice given to me was straightforward while also taking into account that I was grieving him. As someone who had been feeling completely devasted about his slow decline, everyone at the hospital had brought me a sort of peace as they had reassured me I had done everything I could to help him. On the day I had to bring him in to be euthanized, they allowed me to bring in my whole family to say goodbye. My family and I were allowed to take our time to be with him in the room until we were ready to let him go, and when the time came, the process itself was quick and peaceful. Dr. Horvath had walked us through every step of the euthanasia, and while my family had been distraught over the process, having her walk us through everything was incredibly reassuring and had allowed us to focus on him in his last moments. We were given all the time needed to mourn him and I never felt rushed to leave. Even when I came in 2 weeks later to pick up his ashes, the front desk staff were very kind and comforted me once again for his loss. This is the only hospital where I felt my concerns were taken seriously and where my cat's issues were dealt with immediately. At other hospitals, I had been told to wait days or even weeks for x-rays to even begin the process of diagnosing him. Here, the day I brought him was the day I had finally learned what his issue was and had been given treatment to start right away. I live about 45 minutes away but this is the only place I'd consider taking my babies for treatment. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who is thinking of bringing their pets here. The staff are very understanding and straightforward, the rooms are always cleaned right before I'm taken inside, and I feel like all my concerns are heard and acknowledged!
