Google review I just left… I have been going to Banfield since 2001 with all of my various animals that I’ve had have had plans. Today, I have walked into a Banfield that I have gone to for 3 years. Each time the prices keep going up, but the quality keeps going down and the hours become more limited. I simply want anal glands and nails to be taken care of on my dog. I’m now being told by Tammy that the appointment that I’ve set isn’t valid and as an exception they will treat my dog. I don’t know who she is or how/why she is dictating policy that was never expressed, communicated or provided in writing. In addition to that I’m told I can only come in between 2 PM and 3 PM during the weekdays and Saturday only. So they are now charging me more money for a manicure pedicure glands and limiting the amount of time that I can come in when I’m an individual who runs my own business, and I have three dogs. I will no longer be moving forward with any of the policies for three dogs of mine and I’ll be making sure I cancel those moving forward. I do not recommend Banfield or their wellness plans. The staff is less qualified and less helpful. What a bummer.
Made an appointment on the app for an in room visit and I had to be rescheduled several times because I was told there would not be a vet available at the time slot I picked. Why make it available to book on the app when you actually can’t accommodate? Waited for over an hour and was told I’d have to wait at least another 20 mins. My puppy was getting over stimulated and it was almost time for her to eat so I left. Incredibly frustrating experience
I have a care plan with Banfield for my elderly dog. I came in to have his foot checked and a cough checked. His foot had surgery a few months ago to remove a mass between his toes. This was done at a different Banfield location. When the nurse came in to talk to me after the vet checked my dog in the back, they tried selling me on multiple expensive allergy treatments, and the vet didn't even look at the surgery site like I was here for. I had to tell the nurse to tell the vet to actually read why I was here and check his foot. Only after that did the vet come in and talk to me. I had to explain all the tests that were done a few months ago prior to my dog's surgery, even though those details are in Banfield's records and I had said over the phone that this is specifically why I was bringing my dog in. Finally, after talking with the vet and telling them specifically to re-read why I was here in the first place, the vet said my dog's foot was healed nicely and were we able to discuss options for his cough. The topic of the multiple allergy treatments also didn't come up again.
My fur baby has been going to Banfield since he was rescued. He had some health issues when I rescued him. He is now healthy and happy!! He is always nervous in new settings and with people he does not know. This location is staffed with caring individuals who ALWAYS have the pet’s interest at heart.
After spending a year with Banfield, I can assure you, I will not be renewing any plans with them. On multiple occasions, I took my pups there for concerns—whether big or small—and their main response was always, “We don’t know what the issue is,” followed by, “We can try to run these tests,” or, “You can try these medications.” For a pet hospital, it deeply concerns me that when I bring my puppies to the vet seeking help, their response is always clueless. The reason I’m writing this review is because my puppy recently passed away after a visit. He had not been eating and showed a lack of energy for two days, which raised serious concern. I brought him in, and a few hours later, a doctor told me she wasn’t sure what was wrong. She then asked if we wanted to run multiple tests. My pup was already weak, so I wasn’t willing to put him through undirected tests. Instead, she administered an injection at the hospital for “pain.” After picking him up, he seemed worn out and tired—I assumed it was from the medication. But the next day, he was completely paralyzed. When I brought him to the vet, he could still walk, drink water, and use the restroom on his own—but after the visit, he was completely paralyzed. A few hours later, my puppy passed away. In the following days, I called the vet to ask what medication he received and why he became paralyzed. The front desk repeatedly said, “He was given the right dose for his weight,” completely ignoring the fact that my puppy had died. They even put me on a basic waitlist just to talk to a doctor. To hear the people who are supposed to care for my pet act as if nothing happened was shocking. What was even more distressing was when I spoke with one of my pet groomers about this, and she told me the same thing happened to her. She had taken her pup in for an X‑ray, but they decided to do everything except that. In the following days, her pup passed away. She had warned them it was likely a neck issue, but instead, they performed full-body scans—everything but what she’d requested. If you love your pets and want them to meet with doctors who actually care, please avoid this place and find somewhere worth it.
