Was supposed to stay here for a few nights, but checked out after the first night. Room was outdated but ok. Really, the most significant reason why we left was how awful the night was. From 2AM-4AM, there were loud, VULGAR arguments and disturbances outside. We woke up in the middle of the night to knocking at possibly our door or a room near us. Definitely did not go back to bed after that. The walls are very thin and you can hear almost anything that goes on outside, unfortunately. Only thing that felt safe or normal at this place was during breakfast and when the sun was out. OK hotel, staff were nice, but super shady location.

I booked a vacation for my parents 30th anniversary which included them going on a cruise and decided to have them come to the same hotel here. Room was great. They loved it. Before the cruise the experience was great and all was well. After the cruise they had checked in around 3:05 on 8/12/2024. there were 2 people at the front desk one male one female. (My parents didn’t catch the name), The female was the first to help and she was very polite. My brother and I booked and used our cards to pay for both stays. When the female pulled up the booking she said it wasn't paid for and my parents were confused because we booked everything. My mother was going to call me and try to see what was going on. Then the male helped himself into the conversation and wouldn’t let my parents talk and said that if they weren’t going to sign the paperwork and pay, they were not welcome at the hotel and to find a different hotel to stay at. He had a very rude attitude towards my parents. My parents had to tell the male to calm down and let them talk and let him understand why they are confused. The female did try and tell my mother to just talk to her and not the male and they’d figure it out. My mother did end up calling me and I talked to the male and he wouldn’t let me talk and let me say that I had contacted them prior to my parents leaving to only charge my card because their trip was all paid for.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The location is very questionable, it doesn’t feel safe at all. The front desk person was brief and wasn’t overly helpful and when we came back a few minutes later after checking in to our room only to check out again due to the room he had the lobby locked and was not in sight came out from the back, it all just felt odd and off putting. The room was cute to look at until we spent a few minutes inside, the smell that was coming from the room and especially the bathroom was overwhelming to the point it was causing my son to have a headache and it left me feeling nauseous. The room was not very clean and the building itself is old and deteriorating. I’m almost positive the smell was mold and chemicals to try to mask the smell of the mold. The AC unit also was putting out an awful smell when we turned it on. We went back down to the front desk and asked to be checked out and the guy said we would get a full refund. As of yet I’m still waiting for that refund!

The beds are broken and sink down in the most used areas. I don't believe these beds have ever been changed or even flipped. The AC unit was either too hot or too cold. Overall, unless you have absolutely no other option avoid this place.

Small quaint and a great location. Perfect for the price. 15 minutes from Disney land and 20 mins from Surf City (Huntington Beach). It lives up to the standard I've come to expect from Best Western and goes beyond with the staff. Every single person I encountered was pleasant, and not just out of professionalism, they all seemed genuinely kind. Breakfast was great, and the rooms were adequate. Nothing fancy, but for the price, it was exactly what I'd hoped for. Would definitely stay again.
